Over the last two years I have established myself as an exceptional student and media producer due to my commitments to my course and extra curricular activities. I have been recognised for my efforts and been honoured with sort after awards.
Winner Royal Television Society North East and the Border Student Factual (Feb 2009)
My dissertation piece, ‘The Art of Aggression’ was of exceptional standard. My role as the producer and researcher for this documentary saw me working with a team of four others. The film was submitted by Sunderland University and consequently won the ‘Best Student Factual Programme’ category at this years North East and the Border RTS (Royal Television Society) awards.

The Media Centre Professional Practice awards (sponsored by Avid and F451)
This award is presented by Sunderland University, to the student who shows outstanding achievement in media production across the year. I was awarded this award for my professional practise on three elements of production. The areas identified by the nomination were: video, sound and new media. Evidence of my work to attain this award is demonstrated by my dissertation piece ‘The Art of Aggression’ and my development of the trial broadcast of ‘Sunderland Student Television’.
Best Production, Best Documentary, Best Researched Documentary
The purpose of these awards was to recognise all the hard work from every student, from all years that are studying for Media Production modules at the university. I received the above awards for my dissertation piece ‘The Art of Aggression’ . The standard of entries was very high but my team and I managed to win the most coveted award for Best Production.
National Student Television Awards (NaSTA) (March 2008)
Best Live Show and Best Comedy (Highly commended)
The National Student Television Award recognises student televisions stations and their programming. After the trial broadcast of ‘Sunderland Student Television’ I submitted some of our programming and was invited to attend the awards show and network with other stations. ‘Sunderland Student Television’ won two highly commended awards for Best Live Show and Best Comedy. I was the producer for the live show.
